FAQ
Questions
Where does the data come from?
The Food Standards Agency food alerts API and the GOV.UK product safety alerts, reports and recalls, both under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Does it replace the official alerts?
No. It combines them and matches them to what you sell. Always follow the official notice.
Is this compliance or legal advice?
No. It is an information service. The recall-check log helps you keep records; it does not make you compliant.
How do barcode matches work?
Add the EAN or UPC codes you stock. When a notice lists a matching barcode, it goes to the top of your email. Many notices give only names and batch codes, so add brand and product words as well.
Which countries?
UK now. The same engine is ready for EU Safety Gate and US openFDA and CPSC data.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, from the link in every email. The trial is free for 14 days.
