We email companies at general business addresses (such as info@ or enquiries@) published on their own websites, about products relevant to their trade. Data: company name, the business email address, where we found it, and whether you replied or opted out. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (telling businesses about relevant services). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe; once you opt out we keep only a one-way hash of the address so we never contact it again.
When you subscribe we receive from Stripe your name, business email, company name, billing address, VAT number if given, and payment status (we never see full card numbers). We use it to provide the service, send the weekly alert and keep accounts. Lawful basis: contract and legal obligation. We keep billing records for 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to; your alert settings are deleted 30 days after you cancel.
Our alerts are built from official public datasets published under the Open Government Licence. We remove personal contact details and do not use trustee or individual data.
Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and email delivery), Google Workspace (email). Some may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or object to processing, by emailing hello@brightbench.co.uk. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
