How quickly do I hear about something said in Parliament?
Hansard publishes what is said in the Commons and Lords chambers on a rolling basis, usually within about three hours. Policy Radar checks Hansard every hour, so with instant alerts you normally hear the same day. We do not transcribe live broadcasts ourselves: we work from the official published record.
Which sources do you cover?
Hansard for the Commons and Lords, written questions and answers, written statements, bills and their stages, select committee reports and publications, written and oral evidence, calls for evidence, GOV.UK consultations and department publications and news, early day motions, Parliament petitions, new legislation on legislation.gov.uk and the parliamentary calendar. We also cover the Senedd (Record of Proceedings, written questions and answers, and committee publications), the Scottish Parliament, the Northern Ireland Assembly, Commons and Lords Library and POST briefings, deposited papers, and National Audit Office reports with a short extract (two to three sentences) from each report's published summary. Every Senedd and NAO item links to the original and names its source.
How do keyword alerts work?
Write alerts the way you would search: "exact phrases" in quotes, AND, OR and NOT, a minus sign to exclude a word, brackets and a * wildcard. Plurals and possessives match automatically. In long documents, words joined by AND must appear in the same passage, which cuts out most false matches. You can test an alert against the last 7 days before saving it.
What are the AI summaries and tone tags?
For each match we generate a one- or two-sentence summary of what the passage says about your issue, and a tone tag: supportive, critical, questioning or neutral. They are produced automatically from the official text and can be wrong, so every item quotes the passage and links to the official record.
Can I track individual MPs or peers?
No. Policy Radar is built around issues and organisations, not people, and does not build profiles of MPs, peers or other individuals. Speakers' names can appear where they are part of the quoted official record.
Can my whole team get the alerts?
Yes. Up to 25 recipients on one subscription, with no charge per seat. You can also send alerts to a Slack channel or a webhook for your CRM, Zapier or Make.
What is in the weekly briefing PDF?
Every Monday you get a PDF of the week's matches for each alert, with summaries, tone tags, quotes and links, and the week ahead in Parliament. It is laid out to forward to members, clients or a board.
Do you cover the Senedd, Scottish Parliament or Northern Ireland Assembly?
Yes. Policy Radar covers the Senedd (the Record of Proceedings for Plenary and committees, written questions and answers, and committee publications), the Scottish Parliament (written questions and answers and the Official Report) and the Northern Ireland Assembly (written questions and Hansard), alongside the UK Parliament, GOV.UK and UK legislation. Each Senedd item links to senedd.wales and carries the line "Source: Senedd Cymru / Welsh Parliament, senedd.wales". As with Westminster, we track issues, not people: there are no profiles of Members of the Senedd.
How far back do the results go?
Alerts cover new material from the day you sign up. The test-an-alert preview and the feeds look back 7 days. Policy Radar is not an archive.
Is this advice?
No. Policy Radar is an information service. It points you to the official record so you can read it yourself.
